The wide open world of the game can be explored either through the foot, boat or in a diving suit. You as a private investigator has to uncover the truth of what has possessed the city and the mind of its inhabitants. The city of Oakmont is gripped by the supernatural forces. The Sinking City has been inspired by the HP Lovecraft, the master of horror. Here bullets have replaced money and consuming too many bullets will leave you unable to barter for the desired resources. However, the town of Oakmont is an isolated place with fewer resources and deteriorating social order. There is an arsenal of tools and weapons and you can use such items to kill strange creatures and dispel hallucinations. You can also swim, however, the water is infected and can damage your health. You must use a boat in order to undertake your journey and move from one place to the other in order to drier areas. The town of Oakmont is divided into seven districts, and all are affected by flooding to various degrees.
The open investigation system of the game will allow you to undertake different quests, investigating different clues and pieces of evidence. The Sinking City is an open world detective video game with a third person camera perspective. It follows the private investigator and war veteran Charles W, Reed as they are searching for clues to the cause of the terrifying visions plaguing them and becomes entangled in the mystery of Oakmont’s unrelenting flooding.
